About Us

For the school year of 2010-2011 - my husband and I made the decision to homeschool our children. We researched, reviewed the pros and cons, evaluated what it would really mean for our household and children, prayed about it and with confirmation and faith that we were doing the right thing... we made the leap.

Education is very important to our family. As college graduates, educators in the church, and adult scholars - my husband and I are always striving to improve ourselves and soak in knowledge. We are always learning and have pasted that on to our 7 year old and 3 year old. They have a yearning and quest for knowledge that I want to hold onto and cultivate for as long as I can - the pubic school system, as we know it in San Diego CA- just wasn't doing the job. With layoffs and drastic increases in classroom sizes, I was worried about school just becoming less focused on learning and cultivating the individual but rather disciplining and a lot of "mass" learning. A lot of parents' were having the same anxiety I was having over my child's education but didn't have any other option, so I consider myself fortunate in being able to homeschool her at this time because just a year ago...I was in the same boat as most parents.

Just a year ago, I quit the corporate world to take care of my 2 year old at the time, and really focus on my life passions. I worked hard in the corporate world and had many successes, but just as much heartache and pain. I was coming home stressed, exhausted both mentally and physically, not being the best mother, wife, daughter, sister, or friend. I developed a bad case of migraines and unwanted weight gain. With a detailed plan and a lot of prayer, I was finally able to give my 2 weeks notice and I haven't looked back since.

I've since then became a certified life coach, social media manager, a business owner and partner, as well as channel into my creative spirit. I've also became a better mother, wife, sister, daughter, friend, and even a better shopper. With one income, my shopping habits had to change and that open my world to couponing the "right" way. I've saved so much money for my family so that we can use the money saved for other things such as vacations, dance lessons, fashion shows, dates, etc.

This blog was created due to the many questions I receive from other small business owners, work at home moms, and even homeschool moms and dads. I receive many questions simply about just educating our children in every day life and how we can do it better - even when they are in a traditional school. This blog is a resource of educational sources, tips and highlights. We will share with your our adventures in homeschooling - and everyday isn't rosey so you'll get to see the good and the bad. Let me say now...for some of those bad days, "don't judge me" - I am human.

Besides education, I also get an overwhelming response to my couponing.  Shopping is my guilty pleasure and thru couponing and strategic shopping, I am able to do much more of it as well as contribute to society with my donations. In this blog I will share with you the tips and resources to help save your family money, earn freebies and really enjoy life without the guilt of excess shopping and overspending. I invite you into our lives - you'll learn from us and we'll learn from you. Get ready for the journey!
